Our Management Training Program is the key to all future growth. Although we hire new managers from a wide variety of experience and backgrounds, all management hiring will be at the entry level. It is essential that all Managers In Training gain a thorough knowledge of all of our front-of-house and back-of-house operations, not simply a superficial exposure.
Your training will begin with exposure to our service procedures, bar procedures and administrative procedures. As you progress, you will become involved with Management task for each area of the restaurant.
After your front-of-the-house training, you will spend the most important segment of training working in a hands-on capacity in one of our kitchens. During this time, you will learn how to prepare each and every item on the menu and then train at each of the line positions to experience how we maintain our cook time standards under high volume situations. Upon completion of this segment of training, you will be assigned to a specific area of responsibility by the General Manager. Allowing for different levels of experience, it will require four to five months to complete the training program.
Upon completion of in-store training, you will travel to Oklahoma City to participate in a three day Manager Trainee Workshop. The goal of the workshop is to tie together all areas of your training and to further expose you to the areas of employee and guest relations, interviewing and recruiting, profit and loss management, expediting, wine. At Charleston’s, we feel that training does not stop here. Our intense dedication to our managers has resulted in the implementation of in-house personal development programs such as: Customers for Life, Pushing Up People, How to Win Friends and Influence People, Raving Fans, How to Stop Worrying and Start Living, and additional Leadership training seminars. Remember, Managers are the future of our company.
